Shanti Records Presentation

In the summer of 2008, Shanti launched two new projects: a record label and a studio located in the basement of a club. Together with Between Us, Shanti had previously released records but only as promotional material. The first commercial release by Shanti Records was recorded by David Moufang aka Move D. He is now considered a living legend - by 1995, he had already become one of the pioneers of ambient-techno and released a series of classic albums, including the iconic 'Kunststoff' on the German label Source and the mini-album 'Cymbelin' on the British Warp Records. With such status, Moufang could have rested on his laurels and lazily reissued his own back catalog, but David maintains a high pace and participates in a variety of projects. The Shanti studio located in the club's basement is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, making it a place where modern electronic musicians can record their material with high quality or master their existing recordings. The studio is mainly used by the SCSI-9 collective, whose live performance will be featured at the Shanti Records presentation. Anton Kubikov and Maxim Milyutenko need no introduction - over the years, they have become the most sought-after electronic group in Russia. Releases on the Cologne flagship Kompakt have brought the musicians worldwide acclaim, and now a busy touring schedule from Japan to Chile rarely allows them to perform frequently in their hometown.
