Energy Night is a series of large-scale dance events based on creating a brand of dance festival of a qualitatively new level. The music includes styles of progressive house and trance, which have long been the most popular and mass styles of dance music worldwide. The best DJs and projects, included in the top 100 DJs in the world by the authoritative English magazine DJ MAG, will be featured. The unique visual and sound design of the event will align with the trends of the best European dance festivals.
The NU-NRG project is Andrea Ribeca and Giuseppe Ottaviani, two ambitious young musicians from Italy. Their flawless trance melodies have become their distinctive hallmark. Their first joint single 'Dreamland' received a lot of positive feedback and eventually led them to Paul Van Dyk, who signed them to his label Vandit Records without hesitation. 'Dreamland' made it to the German ODC TOP 40 chart and was featured on Paul Van Dyk's album 'Politics of dancing.' In 2002, Andrea and Giuseppe successfully performed live in Germany at the 'Love from Above' party, warming up clubbers before Paul Van Dyk's performance, and also played an excellent set on the mobile platform of the Vandit label at Loveparade’02.
In May 2003, NU-NRG released their second album on Vandit Records - the Space Flower EP, which once again proved the project's immense potential with its success.
The trio Above & Beyond are not just a driving force in modern trance; they are true leaders! Their first performance on the Essential Mix radio show became one of the best in the history of BBC Radio 1 and received numerous positive reviews on the station's forums. This led to the trio being invited back to BBC Radio 1 for the Ibiza Weekend Broadcast show. They did a remix of pop diva Madonna's song 'What it feels like for a girl,' which caused a sensation in the global dance scene and remained at the top of all charts for a long time. Above & Beyond also did remixes for Britney Spears, Dido, and Delerium. They were nominated for the World Dance Music Awards’04 in three categories, including Best Group alongside Scissors Sisters, Chemical Brothers, and Basement Jaxx. In the DJ MAG TOP 100 voting, the trio was awarded Breakthrough of the Year, rising from 117 to 39 and surpassing many renowned DJs.
Menno de Jong is one of the most talented and rapidly rising musicians on the global trance scene, an absolute favorite to be one of the future stars in the DJ Mag Top 100. His debut single 'Guanxi,' released on the label Anjunabeats, captivated clubbers worldwide. This track received great support from renowned DJs such as Dj Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, and many others. Aside from dominating music charts globally for an extended period, the single was tipped as a future favorite on Armin Van Buuren's radio show 'A State Of Trance,' garnered the most votes twice in the weekly internet poll of Ministry of Sound radio, featured on the playlist of BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, and achieved great success in Dutch Dance Charts! Over the past year, Menno has performed at events in America, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Spain, and nearly all major trance events in the Netherlands, with upcoming gigs scheduled in Norway, France, Switzerland, a tour in Australia and New Zealand, and many other countries.
Misja Helsloot began performing at parties he organized with his friend in Rotterdam. It was during this time that he met DJ Tiesto, who was already a well-known DJ in the Netherlands. Tiesto gave him the opportunity to release his mix on a CD - 'In Trance We Trust 001,' which was released in September 1998 on Black Hole Recordings. This CD sold in large numbers in the Netherlands, Israel, and Norway, leading Misja to receive many performance requests in these countries. A year later, Misja felt the need for something more than CD releases and opened his own sub-label in a record company in Rotterdam. In December 1999, his first CD 'The Creation - Day One' was released on this label, the first of his seven albums.
As his name became increasingly known in Scandinavia, aided by his numerous performances, in October 1999 in Denmark and April 2001 Misja participated in the Hyperstate festival (the Scandinavian counterpart of the Dutch Inner city). After creating several remixes, he was honored to produce the anthem for the Impulz festival - the track 'Different World,' released on his own label First Second. Traveling the world, Misja performed at clubs such as Cocorico in Italy, Opium Garden in Miami, The Dome in Tel Aviv, and once again at major festivals like Impulz, Dance Valley, and the closing party of FFWD Dance Parade in Rotterdam. Adding another notable event to his career, in 2004 Misja had the honor of opening the mainstage performance at the Trance Energy festival in front of 10,000 clubbers.
