Propaganda Presents Jimpster vs Palm Skin!

On August 19, on a warm Saturday night, we will have a double set from specially invited guests. Both guests - Jamie Odell aka Jimpster and Simon Richmond aka Palm Skin - were well known to electronic music fans back in the late nineties. Numerous releases from Palm Skin on Mo'Wax label, an album on Howie B's 'Pussyfoot Records', countless sets around the world, studio work with Youssou N'Dour, Neneh Cherry, Gabrielle, and DJing and percussion for live concerts with the band R.E.M honed Simon's skills but left in him a living spirit of an experimenter and supporter of independent movements. Friendship and collaboration with Jimpster brought us a couple of new releases from Palm Skin Productions on Freerange Records, closely associated with quality dance music in recent years. The measure of quality of this British label's releases is the deep roots and good musical education of its founder Jamie Odell, earned thanks to Jamie's father, the drummer of the legendary band Shakatak. Jamie's own albums under the aliases Jimpster and Audiomontage have been in DJ bags and radio airwaves for months, if not years. Jimpster's sets at festivals such as The Big Chill, Glastonbury, Womad, and the winter music conference in Miami made him a sought-after guest in many dance clubs, including Fabric (London), Plastic People (London), Bossanova (Los Angeles), and Propaganda (Moscow).
