Travelers SCSI-9

The SCSI-9 project, represented by Anton Kubikov and Maxim Milyutenko, has released a new record, Flight Mode EP, on their Pro-tez label. Three tracks – "Flight mode", "Submoon" and "Walking through the fog" – were recorded during the SCSI-9 tour. Anton Kubikov commented on the release of the new record specifically for 44100hz:
"In the past year, we have traveled to many countries and cities, so the entire Flight Mode record was created on the road. The recording process took place during breaks between performances, on airplanes, trains, and in hotels. The title 'Flight mode' was conceived as a continuation of our last vinyl 'Railway Sessions'. We tried to reflect the theme of travel in everything; I personally photographed the Flight mode cover, which features a luggage sticker, in Brazil, in the city of Florianopolis. I began recording the track Submoon somewhere around Serbia and finished it in Athens. To be honest, we initially planned to release two tracks from this record on the Kompakt label, but at the last moment the plans changed, as the tracks didn't seem strong enough for Kompakt, so we got to work on a third track. Later, Maxim and I decided that we shouldn't let our work gather dust, and we released the record on our own label.
In any case, right now Maxim and I are finishing up the remaining tracks we recorded over the past year, which have already piled up to about eleven tracks that will be released on different labels. One of the projects consists of house compositions that we plan to showcase to some German deep-house labels. Our most significant event is the upcoming music studio at the Shanti club-restaurant, where we can work and transfer all our countless musical equipment. I have a bad habit of constantly buying synthesizers; Maxim has been trying to talk me out of it for a long time, but I keep buying them. I hope we can move everything to Shanti soon and create a professional music studio. As soon as we finish it, I think SCSI-9 will switch to creating a new album that Kompakt has asked us to produce. Although they didn't take our tracks from the Flight Mode album, they have asked us to record a new album by next year. Meanwhile, as producers of the Pro-tez label, we plan to release Korablova in September; perhaps a young musician from Petrozavodsk named Suokas will record something for us – and Mujuice has also promised to record a dance techno record. Overall, all our activities are somewhat balanced; we manage to work on both our project and the projects of our label."
