Exposing Issst

The latest Global Underground mix, hitting record stores next week, reveals what's playing at London's Issst parties. Issst made their presence known at the beginning of 2005 with three events at The Key club with the participation of German electrohouse giants Tiefschwarz. Over time they were joined by DJs such as Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Black Strobe and DJ Hell, and parties began to take place in East London car parks and warehouses.
The double CD mix was produced by Issst co-promoter Kevin Griffiths, who also runs London label Tsuba. The first disc features a mixture of indie dance (Justice), nu-disco (Mock & Toof) and electrohouse (John Acquaviva), while the second oscillates between deep house (Larry Heard), tech house (Gabriel Ananda) and minimal techno (Heartthrob). Both records are replete with recordings from Tsuba artists, notably David K, Zoo Brazil and Danton Eeprom.
