Red Bull Music Academy Will Be Held in Toronto

On May 4, applications for participation in the Red Bull Music Academy 2007 will close. In search of new musical adventures in 2007, the Red Bull Music Academy is headed to Canada! The Academy is rightly considered a significant event in the music world, as here, for the tenth consecutive year, 60 talented musicians and DJs from around the world gather to absorb the knowledge and experience shared by esteemed pioneers of the music world across all eras.

Every year the Academy takes place in a new city around the world; it has previously visited Berlin, Dublin, New York, London, São Paulo, Cape Town, Rome, Seattle, and Melbourne. In 2007, the course is set for Canada! The location for the tenth, anniversary Academy is not accidental. Toronto's music scene is quite diverse and rich; the city is renowned for its jazz past and present, as well as a wide spectrum of electronic music; many hip-hop crews originated here.

Last year, Red Bull Music Academy 2006 participant Nina Kraviz was invited to the Sonar festival in Barcelona, where she performed on the Red Bull Music Academy Lounge stage. You can watch the video here:

Musicians and DJs wishing to participate in the Red Bull Music Academy need to complete 3 simple steps:
1. Fill out the application form in English, which can be downloaded from the official site Music Academy.
2. Attach a CD with your 30-minute music material (mix, compilation of works, or vocal parts) and your photo.
3. Send or deliver your application, CD, and photo to the Red Bull office in Russia:

All applications must be sent from Moscow and other cities no later than May 4! From all applications received from around the world, the jury will select 60 most suitable candidates who will be invited to participate in one of the Red Bull Music Academy sessions in Toronto: from September 23 to October 5, 2007, or from October 14 to October 26, 2007. Training, flight, and accommodation for participants are covered by the Red Bull Music Academy.
