Releases. Presentation of the album Ambidextrous 'Post-Pop Workshop'

Ambidextrous is a project of Moscow-based musician Nik Zavriev. Over the past five years, Ambidextrous has gained popularity among electronic music enthusiasts. His tracks have been released on numerous labels on both sides of the Atlantic, including the English Toytronic and Neo Ouija, the American Merck, and the German Klangkrieg. Nik performs live across Russia and the CIS, remixes tracks for other musicians, and participates in numerous collaborative projects.
The album 'Post-Pop Workshop', released jointly by two Russian labels, Shaped Harmonics and Shum Records, concludes a trilogy that began in 1998 with the album 'Soundescape' and continued in 2001 with the album 'Errorism'. Nik creates his musical narratives drawing inspiration from 80s pop music, dark cyberpunk of William Gibson, and contemplative cinema of Otar Iosseliani. Balancing between electro and disco, hip-hop and new breaks, yet consistently returning to soft melodic IDM, Ambidextrous constantly navigates the line between musical pop art and intellectual electronica.
'I don't consider my music experimental,' says Nik, 'it's rather contemporary pop music living in the context of information-saturated metropolises.' Indeed, Post-Pop Workshop is a good soundtrack for a stroll in summer Moscow with a player.
On April 6th (Sunday) at 19:00 at the club 'Territory', a presentation of the album Ambidextrous 'Post-Pop Workshop' will take place, released jointly by the labels Shaped Harmonics and Shum Records.
