Electronic music enthusiasts familiar with contemporary ambient genres are well aware of the St. Petersburg ambient project Syntetika. Just a year ago, Syntetika successfully debuted with their first album, ironically titled <100% Синтетика>. And finally, the long-awaited second album <Time & Space> has been released, undoubtedly showcasing the work of a mature artist. A superficial comparison of the album <Time & Space> with the previous work <100% Синтетика> immediately reveals significant differences in sound and musical concepts. The sounds have become more interesting, deeper, and more spacious. The participation of unique acoustic musicians in the album has given it a special, distinctive sound capable of satisfying even the most demanding music lover. Overall, the group has shown significant creative growth. It is worth noting that the recording of the album <Time & Space> was done using a unique technology, pushing the boundaries of the conventional standards, transcending the narrow stereo format of CD Audio. It creates a lasting sensation of a warm surrounding space. The group continues to confidently utilize a successful mix of musical and sound techniques. The group remains true to its primary creative motto of combining melodiousness with modern Hi-Tech sound. The particular relaxing depth is perceived as a unified space-time. One could say that Syntetika has developed a timeless method of blending new 'romantic' melodism with electronics. At times, the influence of musicians and collectives such as Brian Eno, Michael Brook, FSOL, Global Communication, Orb, Software can be felt, although clear parallels cannot be drawn between the works of these collectives and the album <Time & Space>; Syntetika's music remains original and distinctive. In certain tracks, the group has found a unique way to infuse elements of ethnic music into the ambient sound. Thanks to the intricate blending of the multi-instrumentalist and orientalist Sergey Gasanov's improvisational techniques with electronic landscapes, there is sometimes a sense of a 'live' revelation, an understanding of some incredibly important secret. <Time & Space> is a narrative about something deeply sacred, a form of communication with oneself.
