Reynold in Mix

On August 19, Saturday, the famous DJ Reynold will perform his set at the Mix club. Sam Rouanet aka Reynold began his musical training at the conservatory, where he enrolled at the age of 6. His first instruments were the cello and classical guitar, but a few years later he decided to master the electric guitar, trying to play with his father, who is an excellent jazz musician. In the early 90s, his passion for jazz and the popular soul music of the time led Sam to explore the independent rock scene, particularly the work of bands like Fugazy, No Means No, and Helmet, but the main ambition of the young musician remained experimentation. A significant step in the development of his own creativity for Sam was hip-hop, especially after meeting Matt Lux, the bassist of the band Izotope 217. Soon they went to Chicago, where they immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the American house and post-rock scene, which resulted in the creation of the funk group A.U.F.M. After moving to London, thanks to close collaboration with musicians Kinobee and Scanone, Sam focused on producing music. Upon returning to his native France, he met Phil Stumpf, after participating in a couple of European tours with the band OH. During this time, Phil and Sam had the idea to create the electronic music duo Duplex 100 (Initial Cuts, Treibstoff, Morris/Audio), known for the Minimal Dancin' party series in Paris, as well as opening the tech-house label Trenton records together with Chris Clause in 2003. Currently, Sam is also working on a solo project.
