Rose & Ulysse на party Habits Die
For the second event in the Habits Die series at Solianka, DJs Katya Ryba and Yuka invited the French electronic duo Rose & Ulysse. Like the previous time with Toxic Tuna aka Alla Farmer & Lena Deen, the invited musicians belong to the category of lesser-known ones for inexperienced listeners. The warm atmosphere of the first Habits Die event inspired us, and we expect the next event to be even more memorable.

We invite musicians again, whose creativity we are familiar with, who have repeatedly surprised us with their musical history, but are known only to a fairly narrow circle of 'connoisseurs.'

We consciously take on the additional work of presenting artists to the audience as best as possible, artists that they have never heard of. And we cannot afford to act otherwise, because these personalities are more than worthy of attention.

We present to you the magnificent duo of electronic musicians from the French underground techno scene, Rose & Ulysse. To tell you about them, we decided to enlist the help of our colleagues and friends. They are respected people, and we believe that their opinion will be the best source of reliable information:

Mike Spirit (musician, dj): I am a new fan of their tracks. Well, at first, I liked Ulysee's solo track on Liebe Detail. Then I listened to them on Katya Ryba's recommendation and realized that these guys are cool. Nothing new, of course, but they create a fantastic atmosphere on the dance floor. For me, it is a very dense hypno sound, a hundred percent relevant club sound, awakening the spirit of a real party on the dance floor. Modest and tasteful!

Andrei Oid (musician, dj): I first encountered Rose & Ulysse more than a year ago accidentally on Myspace and immediately noticed that I had heard some of the tracks quite a while ago and often at parties in various clubs in Berlin from Bar25 to Berghain. They have a very distinctive sound: powerful, dry, and clear. Seemingly without excess and a desire to impress with originality, but at the same time unforgettable and not at all monotonous, with some kind of otherworldly ancient drama. And the track names - 'Prometheus' or 'Penelope' - complement this feeling. When I met the guys in person, I saw pleasant open people without a shadow of snobbery. We share various interesting and funny things, they gladly send me their tracks, which I enjoy playing quite often, but their sound does not get tiresome. I already consider them techno classics.

Amesh/Aleksei Meshkov (musician, dj): I have been familiar with Rose & Ulysse's work since 2008. There was a nice record on Edit Select. Their music evokes only positive emotions in me. Good techno drive! Full support!

Shonky (musician, dj): Rose and Ulysse is the bomb! I played the tracks this weekend at Fuse, had amazing feedback from the crowd. And I've been playing 'Penelope' for a few months now! The full EP is gonna rock my next gigs.

Chloe (musician, dj): I like ‘Promethee”, I'll play it.

V-Voice (musician, dj): Serious guys - both as a duo and individually. I remember them from the golden days of the Mix club, where their music was always a joy. They were also 'excellent' at the 'City' - wherever their releases were played, from May Day to Constitution Day. Their tracks have always been characterized by a dry techno sound with shades of trance, I mean a psychedelic component (I often try to find it among mountains of vinyl). I don't play these records often now, as they have been around for years, but I occasionally remember them. Habits die, but records are forever!

We are also delighted to introduce you to our friend and artist, a talented painter, author of interesting performances, video genius, and an extraordinary personality - VJ Linards Kulless (Berlin, Riga)
