ROUDOUDOU - the art of new sound

On September 14, the SetteBello restaurant will host the only concert of musician, DJ, traveler, inventor and collector of new sounds Laurent Etienne, better known in the club universe as RouDouDou.
Collector is the most correct definition of this musician, whose creative biography was and remains as whimsical as his music. Compiling reggae and soul, French electro, groove, ethnic motifs with foxtrot, kitschy sounds of disco, hip-hop and easy-listening, resorting to the help of studio musicians (Laurent de Wilde - keyboards, Michelle Benita - double bass, Gilles Garin - trumpet, etc.), Laurent Etienne creates his wonderful sound frescoes, which hardly fit into the concept of modern dance music. In the early eighties, the birth of that glamorous madness that is now called club culture, he worked as a DJ and program editor for the independent French radio stations Ivre, Nova and Radio 7, in parallel
performing in Parisian clubs and organizing his own funk-parties. In the 90s, musical collages and compositions by RouDouDou, recorded by him in his home studio using a computer and a sampler, were published by the independent company Delabel, selecting RouDouDou's compositions for the collections of their studio artists. In 1998, Delabel released the musician's first album entitled Tout L'univers, Listener's Digest, and Etienne himself received an invitation from Howie B, the owner and spiritual father of Pussyfoot studio, to take part in the work on the collection Suck It And See. During the same period, RouDouDou made excellent remixes for Pierre Barouh, Czerkinski, Little Rabbits, Ekova, Pollux, Fania and Elles, wrote music
for the film "Sur un air d'autoroute", releases an album of his own remixes.
The second album, RouDouDou Just A Place In The Sun, demonstrated undoubted creative growth and the most powerful potential of an arranger and musician with an amazing sense of sound.
