Hacienda Christmas Parties in the UK

Foreign promoters and club organizers are starting to prepare for the Christmas season. For this December, a landmark Hacienda Warehouse party is planned in two cities in the UK. First in a printing factory building in Glasgow on September 13, and two weeks later in Manchester. The announced headliners include The Happy Mondays, Darren Emerson, Slam, 808 State, Arthur Baker, and A Certain Ratio.
The participation of these musicians in the project is not accidental. Many of them performed at the first parties at the legendary Hacienda club, later becoming true icons of independent dance music.
The Hacienda club opened in Manchester in 1982 and soon, thanks to the efforts of TV presenter and head of Factory Records Tony Wilson, it became a cult venue that set a new format for nightclubs not only in terms of interior design, but primarily in terms of party concepts.
Thousands of people spent nights at Hacienda to hear the newest and most interesting electronic music. Chicago house and Detroit techno conquered the world thanks to the resident DJs of the venue: Mike Pickering, Dave Haslam, Jon Da Silva, Laurent Garnier. For any DJ, performing at the legendary club was the greatest honor.
Perhaps, the best illustration of Manchester's extravagance remains Michael Winterbottom's biographical film '24 Hour Party People,' which vividly describes the birth of the Hacienda club and the chronicle of the Madchester music culture of the late 70s and early 90s.
