Happy Birthday Cult!

The good old club Cult turns five years old, Mark de Clive-Lowe is invited to the celebration! They write about this musician that he is “a man who participated in the creation of a million amazing compositions ...” - Giles Peterson (Radio One, “Worldwide”, UK), that “Mark is confidently in the front row of the new jazz movement” - The Times newspaper (UK), and Wax Magazine (UK) wrote: “Call it new jazz, new house, future jazz, call it what you want, but add epithets to it “amazing” and “brilliant”! At the very beginning of 2005, Mark’s second album, “Tide’s Arising,” was released, featuring Bembe Segue, Capitol A (The Roots / Jazzanova), Pino Palladino (D’Angelo, The Who), Abdul Shylon, Kaidi Tatham. It didn’t take long for it to receive rave reviews, and the album continues to win more and more fans around the world.
During his live performances, Mark creates his music as if “from scratch” - starting with a simple beat played on a signature MPC hip-hop sampler, which gradually builds into a complex rhythmic structure, overlaid with electronic keyboards and the beautiful voice of Bembe Segue. Similar electronic-jazz improvisations regularly take place at Mark's "Freesoul Sessions" parties in London.
