Champagne and French Electronic Music

On Friday, March 24, the Champagne Bar will host the "Champagne Noire" party, where invited French DJ Reynold and our DJs Zorkin, Muza, and Chayanov will perform. Sam Rouanet (Reynold) started to acquire musical skills at the conservatory, where he entered at the age of 6. His first instruments were the cello and classical guitar, but after a few years he decided to master the electric guitar, trying to play with his father, who is a fine jazz musician. In the early '90s, his enthusiasm for jazz and the popular soul music of that time drew Sam's attention to the independent rock scene, particularly to the work of groups like "Fugazi", "No Means No", "Helmet", but the main aspiration of the young musician remained experimentation. A significant step in his creative development for Sam was hip-hop, especially after meeting the bassist of the group Izotope 217, Matt Lux. Soon they went to Chicago, where they immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the American house and post-rock scene, which resulted in the creation of the funk band A.U.F.M. After moving to London, thanks to close collaboration with musicians Kinobee and Scanone, Sam focused on music production. After returning to his native France, he met Phil Stumpf, but before that, he already had the time to participate in a couple of European tours with the band "OH". During this time, a musical electronic duo Duplex 100 (Initial Cuts, Treibstoff, Morris/Audio) was conceived with Phil, known for the series of Minimal Dancin' parties in Paris, as well as jointly opening the tech-house label Trenton Records in 2003 with Chris Clause. Currently, Sam is also working on a solo project - Reynold.
