Shpongle Live in Moscow
Клубные российские · 08.12.2008
On December 20, as part of the Twisted Party in Moscow, the British electronic project Shpongle Live will perform. The ten-hour music marathon will take place at the 'Arsenal' pavilion on Khodynka field. The main highlight will be the 'live' performance of compositions from Shpongle's new album, scheduled for release in 2009. Shpongle's duo was created by the electronic music guru, British artist Simon Posford, and the legendary Australian 'psychedelic astronaut' Raja Ram. The group's first album, 'Are You Shpongled?', released in 1998, acquired a cult status and was hailed by British critics as the 'first album of the new millennium.' Shpongle organically combined ethnic samples, live instruments, and contemporary electronic music. Subsequent releases by Shpongle ('Tales of the Inexpressible' and 'Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost') were enthusiastically received both by listeners and the music press. Shpongle Live is a performance by the project featuring a dozen people, combining the sound of acoustic and electronic instruments. In its ten years of existence, Shpongle has only held two similar concerts (both in Japan). Tickets for the performance in London on October 31 of this year were sold out within 20 minutes. The evening will be opened by chill-out musicians - the group 'Biosynthesis' with a new electronic-acoustic program brought from the shamanic republic of Tuva. Also participating in the Twisted Party at Khodynka will be Hallucinogen, Younger Brother, Raja Ram (DJ set), Simon Holtom (DJ set), Stels (DJ set). The event starts at 9:00 PM. Tickets are available at concert.ru and showtrade.ru.
