The synthesizer became even more electronic

Every electronic musician dreams of getting their hands on any synth by Moog (whether old or new), but few are actually ready to go hungry for months on end to afford such an expensive toy. So, Origin by Arturia is almost as pricey as any Moog synthesizer, but its advantage over other electronic instruments is that it is practically fully computerized.
The Origin synthesizer is essentially a keyboard electronic instrument with a laptop. This compact device features 61 velocity-sensitive keys, over 80 modules (including a set of Moog patches), an adjustable screen with numerous buttons, and over 500 samples created by a whole army of musicians, not to mention that this wonder can also be used as a MIDI controller.
Despite the slightly daunting design of this instrument (the display attached to the synthesizer looks unusual), it may be more convenient for live performances than its predecessors. And that's the very least one can hope for with a price tag of $3,500.
The Arturia Origin Keyboard will be available for sale in December 2007.
