Skalpel - Made in Poland

Skalpel is a fantastic compilation of electro-jazz and video avant-garde. The duo of two Polish DJ virtuosos, Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudlo. In April of this year, the long-awaited debut album of the group, titled Skalpel, was released by Ninja Tune. The initial attention of the record company was drawn by the loud success of the collaboration between SKALPEL and DJ Vadim during tours in Eastern Europe. The creativity of the group is characterized by a rich heritage of Polish jazz, compiled with an incredible number of their own samples. The musicians were greatly influenced by cinema of the 60s and 70s. SKALPEL prepared a contrasting video sequence in which the action of the music is expressed extremely emotionally. It features both the touching romanticism of the flute and the anxious play of the trumpet, as well as the languorous sound of the bass mixed with the soft rhythm of the drums - all instruments effortlessly set the mood for a time travel at least 40 years back! SKALPEL is a masterful mix of aesthetics and entertainment. It plays with the consciousness of the listener-viewer, leading them into an incredible trip. Before the album’s release on Ninja Tune, Martin and Igor were a pair of DJ gurus with undisputed authority in Eastern Europe. Now SKALPEL is ready for worldwide respect... The musical and video decor will change at Club "16 Tons" by the SKALPEL group on November 20.
