Skalpel - Made in Poland at 16 Tons

Skalpel is a fantastic compilation of electro-jazz and video avant-garde. The duo of two Polish virtuoso DJs Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudlo. In April of this year, the long-awaited debut album of the group was released on the Ninja Tune label under the eponymous title Skalpel. The record company's initial attention was drawn by the loud success of Skalpel's collaboration with DJ Vadim during tours in Eastern Europe. The group's work is characterized by the rich heritage of Polish jazz, combined with an incredible amount of their own samples. The musicians were greatly influenced by the cinema of the 60s-70s. Skalpel have prepared a contrasting video sequence in which the action of the music is expressed extremely emotionally. It features the touching romanticism of the flute, the anxious play of the trumpet, the languid sound of the bass mixed with a soft drum rhythm - all the instruments effortlessly set the mood for a journey through time of at least 40 years! Skalpel is a skillful mix of aesthetics and entertainment. These are mind-bending games for the listener-viewer, leading to an incredible trip. Before the album was released on Ninja Tune, Marcin and Igor were a couple of DJ gurus, enjoying unquestionable authority within Eastern Europe. Now Skalpel is ready for worldwide respect...
