Behind the cosmic name Basteroid hides Austrian Sebastian Riedl, one of the founders and main inspirers of the German label Areal. As Basteroid, he has released several highly sought-after records of the strangest techno and funky electro imaginable. You won't hear anything like it anywhere else: what Basteroid creates is both experimental and astonishingly accessible dance music. Basteroid approaches live performances with utmost responsibility: on tour, he carries 35 kg of equipment with him. And, of course, it's hard to get bored at a performance by an artist who names his records "I, Schnitzel Machine" or "Dawaj Dawaj."
