Spy.Der and Parov Stelar Celebrate Birthdays on the Roof of the World

On November 28, "The Roof of the World" celebrates two birthdays: club resident DJ Spy.Der and foreign guest - Austrian musician Parov Stelar, who will perform here along with Max The Sax.

Parov Stelar - real name Markus Füreder - was born in 1974 and lives and works in Linz. Markus’s music career is relatively recent, beginning in 2000; however, in just under a decade of creativity, he has achieved significant success. His musical preferences can be described as the freedom of jazz combined with the groove of house and breakbeat. Markus is the head of the label Etage Noir Recordings, which has released over a dozen of his own records and three albums, as well as works by his musical like-minded people, in its five-year existence.

Solo releases, tracks, and remixes by Markus have also come out on other independent labels, including Raum...Music, the legendary Irma Records, Big City Music, and many others. In addition, his music has been distributed by Universal, Warner, Sony/BMG, and EMI.

Markus's work is aimed equally at club performance and home listening in a cozy armchair – a desirable versatility that is not easy to achieve. Besides working with the label and in the studio, Parov Stelar actively tours the world as a DJ, as well as giving live performances under the name Parov Stelar & Band, where talented saxophonist Markus Elkmair, bassist Stefan Höltzl, drummer Andreas Lettner, and the unique vocalist Beate Baumgartner create music together. These talents were gathered together and clicked not by chance – they have all been professionally involved in music from an early age and cannot imagine their lives without it.

In addition to tirelessly working in the field of dance electronics, Markus has managed to earn an excellent reputation beyond the dance floor, creating various sound, video, and film installations.
