Steve Bug at Mio

Steve Bug started making music relatively recently. He began DJing after attending the Loveparade festival in Berlin in 1991. Unlike many young people who quickly become interested in electronic music but then lose interest just as quickly when they face their first difficulties, Bug immediately began diligently working on his technique. By 1995, after participating in Mayday, he had already gained a reputation as one of the best techno DJs in Germany and had created his first label, Raw Elements, on which, in addition to Steve himself, the then little-known Martini Bros and ANDY were also releasing tracks. Bug turned out to be an excellent producer and promising DJ. He performed as a duo with Acid Maria b DJ T, remixed tracks by Felix Da Housecat and Miss Kittin, and worked with the Turbo label. But perhaps the most important thing for Steve was the offer to collaborate with techno patriarch Richie Hawtin. In 1998, the number of projects released on Raw became too large, and they were all making very different music. Bug decided to close the label and instead created two new ones - Dessous, focused on deep and vocal house, and Poker Flat - techno, electro, any experiments. The releases on Poker Flat that year: Detroit Grand Pubahs - Galactic Ass Creatures From Uranus, and the new album by Martini Bros are recommended for immediate listening. Despite his extensive promotional and production activities, Bug never stopped working on his own music and touring. One of the highlights of his career can be considered his performance at Loveparade in 2003. His set was perhaps the most interesting. At the moment, Steve is actively working on his next solo album, with a release planned for the end of 2004. So stay tuned!
