German experimental project Einstuerzende Neubauten will release a new compilation, Strategies Against Architecture IV, in November 2010 on the Mute Records label. The collective was formed about 30 years ago by musicians Blixa Bargeld and Gudrun Gut. Neubauten has always had an unconventional approach to creativity, with their sound changing from one album to another, and much of their music being performed on instruments made from various devices and scrap metal. Strategies Against Architecture IV is a compilation of the group's works from 2002 onwards, including tracks from the so-called 'support albums,' where fans supplemented Neubauten's music with their own solutions on the website www.neubauten.org. The double CD also includes recordings of live performances, including one from the symbolic performance in the Berlin Palace of the Republic (the seat of the GDR government for the group). The release of the collection coincides with the start of Einstuerzende Neubauten's anniversary tour in cities across Europe, the USA, and Canada, which will last until mid-December. The digital release of Strategies Against Architecture IV is set for November 9, with the physical release on December 7, 2010.
