Superpitcher in Moscow

On Halloween night in Moscow, for the fourth time, the German musician and producer closely associated with the label Kompakt, Axel Schaufler, also known as Superpitcher and a member of the DJ duo Supermayer with Michael Mayer, will perform. Superpitcher is a talented artist who contagiously dances to his own sets and is known as a techno romantic. His music is filled with positive energy, and some tracks simply provoke an involuntary smile. Just remember his cover version of Brian Eno's 'Baby’s on Fire.' Axel became famous in 2000 when his track 'Shadows' was featured on a Kompakt compilation. Superpitcher was then hailed as the label's best newcomer. The musician was a perfect fit for Kompakt, which in the mid-90s proclaimed a policy of moving away from dry techno towards a more pop-oriented sound. His trademark style includes an asymmetrical leading theme over a bass line (the so-called Schaffel), as well as backward-sounding synthesizer passages. Tracks like 'Heroin,' 'Yesterday,' 'Here Comes Love,' and others produced by Superpitcher in a similar vein quickly became hits. Axel remains calm about his successes and the potential cult around his name – he started his career in a store, continued in the sales department of Kompakt, and only then focused on music.
