Dance Cream from the Defected Label

The host of Radio 1 Worldwide, Gilles Peterson, has released a triple CD featuring the best house, disco, soul, jazz, and funk tracks published on the latest compilations of the Defected's In the House series. Peterson possesses one of the largest and most diverse music collections in the world. It is so extensive that it occupies a separate apartment.

Peterson's latest project - a mix for the Defected's In the House series takes us behind the doors of Brownswood's, where the true treasures of house, disco, soul, jazz, and funk are stored in his three-disc set. The first disc is positioned as the first mix in his DJ career composed of commercial house tracks and includes works by Dennis Ferrer, Blaze, Larry Heard, Roland Appel, and Deetron. The second disc is a retrospective of tracks by Cerrone, Earth Wind & Fire, and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, which inspired and shaped the tastes of many contemporary electronic musicians. The third disc is an unmixed collection of rare and unreleased tracks by musicians such as Kenny Dope, Osunlade, Karizma, Peter Kruder, Carl Craig, and Jazzanova, which were specially selected by Peterson for this release.
