Taylor Savvy: Music is Ready for Consumption!

The artist of the cult Berlin label Kitty-Yo, Taylor Savvy, became known to the public long before the release of his debut LP in the fall of 2002. Fans of cheerful and joyful electronic music in Europe and the USA know him as a frequent guest at Peaches and Gonzales concerts. Half Hungarian, half Canadian, now living in Berlin, Taylor Savvy became the third guest singer from Canada nurtured by the caring managers of Kitty-Yo. Like his famous compatriots, Savvy performs entertaining anthemic songs that uplift everyone’s spirit, inevitably leading to the fact that after the concert, the exhilarated audience is surprised by their hoarse voices and sore palms, not to mention the pleasant muscle fatigue from wild dancing to the upbeat funky beats.
Taylor Savvy knows how to entertain the crowd - he started his musical career as a bassist in a cajun orchestra and, having moved into electronics, retained the characteristic drunken drive and the euphoria of party celebrations in his work. The undeniable effect of his retro-futuristic pop songs is explained by the artist as first showing each new piece to his grandmother and grandfather; their reaction is decisive: if they crack a smile, the track will get anyone moving! Taylor Savvy is a benevolent magician from the sweetest dream of a lover of catchy tunes: critics prefer to compare the style, aesthetics, and mood of his records with Journey, Marvin Gaye, and Harry Smith.
He is not only an excellent musician but also a gifted actor. He despises plagiarism and always strives to be original and unpredictable. A sophisticated improviser, constantly in search of new forms, Savvy sometimes turns his stage shows into theater of the absurd - his concerts have featured naked dancers, circus magicians, and professional actors; he sees nothing disgraceful in stage diving or pulling a shy audience member on stage for the enjoyment of the crowd. Once, he even organized a concert without himself, asking three different artists to perform his songs while he enjoyed the view from the dance floor!
In addition to his solo project, Savvy also plays in the rockabilly group The Spank Kings, doesn’t miss an opportunity to reminisce by playing a concert with the cajun band Swamperella, and participates in the joint project Question Authority along with the famed pop maximalist Mocky - he is interested in virtually all aspects of entertainment music!
However, despite all due respect to Taylor Savvy's diverse interests, it must be acknowledged that he achieves truly high levels in getting the crowd moving with his catchy dance jingles and making them shout along to the simple and understandable lyrics of his songs in any language.
