TBA, aka Tusia Beridze, is coming to Mio

TBA is a 25-year-old musician from Tbilisi, also known as a member of the 'Goslab' project of the Georgian Creative Laboratory. Her academic background in politics and media contradicts her current work. Tusia collaborates with musicians like Nikakoi (WFM Rec.), Erast (Laboratory instinct), and Gogi Dzodzuashvili, who have used her vocals and lyrics in most of their tracks. Tusia grew up on the music of Russian, Georgian, European, and German musicians. Her childhood was filled with the sounds of The Smiths, Lou Reed, Weather Report, David Bowie, Cocteau Twins, Bjork, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Georgian folk, and many others. Her love for music initially led her to the record player at home, and later to the small 'Goslab' studio, which became her home and sanctuary where she began creating music that reflects everything happening in the world around her. These are soundtracks to political and social transformations in Georgian society from the times of monarchs to the collapse of the Soviet Union, about poverty and independence, and the 'velvet revolution.' Tracks from her third album 'Georgia is like spiritual Tokio' were used as the soundtrack for a film by Georgian director Salome Machaidze. The 21 tracks of this album are harsh sketches influenced by several cultures. It is music from the Caucasus Mountains and the Southeast of Europe. All this chaos and blending of styles and cultures gives rise to one idea - 'Georgia is like spiritual Tokyo'.
