Telepopmusik - French gods of dance music, pop culture intellectuals with a sense of humor and taste. Nominees of the Grammy Awards and the French equivalent of the Les Victoires de la Musique Awards, friends of Berlin underground heroes Peaches and Gonzales (featured as guest musicians on the first album), they create perfect pop creations, a lounge paradise with the so-called “French touch”, the main secret of the success of French electronic music. Today the band released their second album, “Angel Milk,” and is heading out on a world tour. Moscow is one of the first cities to hear compositions from Telepopmusik’s new masterpiece creation live.
The debut album “Genetic World” was released in 2002 on the major EMI. A fresh combination of disco, house and smart electronics, rap recitatives and romances a la Marc Almond, broken disco rhythms and angelic backing vocals stunned music connoisseurs. The album sold 25 thousand copies, and the group celebrated its success with a world tour of one hundred cities around the world. The main club hit “Breathe” was in rotation on Russian MTV, and in early 2003 it was used as a jingle for a television commercial for Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. The video for "Breathe" was shot in Los Angeles by Jordan Scott, daughter of film director Ridley Scott. She also owns the video for another equally popular song, “Love Can Damage Your Health,” shot in London. The band have spent the past year in their Paris studio recording their new album, Angel Milk, whose soft dance beats are enhanced by the vocals of Deborah Anderson, famous for her work with Mo Wax and DJ Shadow.
The Moscow duet Coin is the latest sensation of the Russian pop scene: they supported MOBY at the last concert in St. Petersburg, their tracks are adjacent to the works of Madonna's sound producer Mirways on the compilation of the Hooj Choons label. Coin is the author of the anthem of the “Republic of Kazantip” Anatoly Vorontsov (music, lyrics, arrangements, programming) and the young nuclear missile designer Nikolai Kuibida (vocals, music, lyrics, guitar). They play high-tech cyber-pop aimed at bringing about a sonic pop revolution. Electro, r'n'b and down beat, the outline of a new pop aesthetic, are created by Coin in their own studio. The musicians recently completed recording their debut album, which will be mastered at the legendary London studio Metropolis, known for its work on albums by giants Madonna, Queen, The Cure, and Deep Purple. The shooting of the first COIN video for the song “Beauty” has already been completed: tattoos come to life in the animated video.
