Tenori-On Orange – new from Yamaha

The Japanese company Yamaha has upgraded its Tenori-On synthesizer. In 2007, it caused quite a stir among electronic composers and musicians by introducing a compact device similar to a drum machine with advanced capabilities.\nOne of the few drawbacks of the first version was its high cost - $1,500. An improved model of the Tenori-On Orange device will go on sale for $1,000. The reduction in price, however, occurred due to a number of changes that may seem critical to some users.\nThus, the magnesium alloy body was replaced by plastic. The gadget does not have battery compartments and can only be used when constantly connected to the mains. Finally, the music panel in the device is one-sided. This circumstance does not affect the functionality of the device, but reduces its effectiveness. Previously, thanks to the back luminous panel present in the original Tenori-On synthesizer, it was possible to observe the actions of the musician.\nTenori-On Orange will go on sale in early 2010. At the same time, Yamaha promises to provide new firmware for the original model. In it, the company took into account the wishes of customers and corrected the detected errors.
