Theodor Zox to perform at Shanti
Клубные российские · 13.01.2006
On January 19th, a party Fragment Session #2 will take place at Shanti - the second event in a series of monthly live performances of Russian and foreign deep and minimal electronic artists, organized by the club-restaurant Shanti in collaboration with the internet radio Deepmix.ru and the non-label Fragment. It is worth reminding that at the first party, December's Fragment Session, Mujuice and the project Leavemotte - a duo of Sergey Lazarev (Lazzich) and Matvey Andreenko, performed. The non-label Fragment has been in existence for over a year and has already established itself not only in Russia, but also abroad. The guest of Fragment Session #2 is the 26-year-old electronic artist Theodor Zox from Copenhagen. By profession, Theodor is a graphic designer. He has had a passion for music from an early age - when his father, who worked as a DJ in the 70s, played jazz, funk, disco, dub, and the group Kraftwerk for him. In 1994, Zox got his first computer and keyboard, and immediately started musical experiments. Inspired by the music he listened to in childhood, Theodor first composed melodic ambient music, and in 1995, after attending his first drum and bass rave in Copenhagen, began reproducing broken rhythms and low-frequency bass - albeit in his own more relaxed and dreamy manner. That same year, Zox heard minimalist Detroit techno on a local radio station for the first time and immediately realized that he had found his musical direction. From then on, Zox began exploring techno music, trying to uncover its secret, and continued to create his own techno version of d'n'b. Currently, Zox is focused on deep techno and minimalist house, combining harmony, unique texture, and a dynamic rhythm in his music. You can listen to Theodor Zox's music on the Fragment non-label website (www.fragmentmusic.net): Zox recently released his release there under the name Ecoform.
