The Bionaut. The First Live Concert in 11 Years Will Take Place in Moscow

Jorg Burger, always a man of many masks, is now best known for his modern releases on the Cologne label Kompakt, including The Modernist, Burger/Voigt (in collaboration with Wolfgang Voigt) and under his real name. Few in Russia are aware of Burger's highly acclaimed work in the nineties - The Bionaut. On the renowned labels Matador USA and Harvest/Emi, where he was responsible not only for a significant portion of the music but also for the musical and visual concepts, he released influential albums such as Lush Life Electronica, Friends, and Lubricate your living room. This pleasant and very melodious music, combining elements of folk and krautrock with idm and filled with the sound of guitars and other "real" instruments, attracted many fans of guitar-heavy styles like indie-rock and britpop to the electronica genre. Burger stopped working and performing under the pseudonym Bionaut at the end of the nineties. Only thanks to a successful master class by Red Bull Music Academy with Burger/Voigt in Moscow this year in April, he agreed to a unique performance at the international festival of contemporary music and media art Migz.
