Tiefschwarz in Ikra

On May 13, Saturday, Tiefschwarz, the great musicians and simply two brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz, will perform. Their first DJ experience took place in 1990 at the now legendary clubs "ON-U" and "Red dog", which Ali managed from 1990 to 1997. This experience and their obsession with the music they heard in Germany and beyond led them to make the leap from DJing to music production.

In 1996 they created Tiefschwarz and began working in Stuttgart in collaboration with producer Peter Hoff. After making several remixes, they released a full single "Music" on the Benztown and Wave Music labels in New York in 1998. Its success inspired the brothers to create their debut album "Ral 9005", which was released in 2000 on Four Music. Later, "Ral 9005" was picked up by Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon, who released it on their English label Classic Recordings in 2002. The press received the album and the subsequent singles "Tru a little Window", "Hello Again", "Never", and "Nix" with enthusiasm, and the growing number of fans is hard to mention.

In 2002, the mixed album by Ali and Basti - "A Little Help For Your Friends" was released on Classic, and their DJ career reached new heights. They started touring Australia, the USA and were in Brazil and Russia. Frequently appearing at Pulp, Rex, and Batofar in Paris, The End, 333, 93 Feet East & Plastic People in London, Tha Lux in Lisbon, Kerma in Helsinki, Flex in Vienna, and at the "10 Days Off" festival in Ghent. They were residents at Robert Johnson in Frankfurt, F.U.N. in Berlin, and The Kings club in Stuttgart. In 2003 the brothers moved to the creative capital of Germany - Berlin and established a new studio there together with new producer and friend Jochen Schmalbach.

Ali and Basti have traveled the world, conquering dance floors one after another - from Brazil to Taiwan. Echoes of cities they visited with their sets can be heard in all their tracks and remixes. Starting small, they have achieved what very few manage - they have become some of the most prominent figures on the international dance scene and attracted attention from stars like Kelis or Terence Trent d’Arby. Under their label Continuemusic, opened in 1996, they have released numerous remixes for Jennifer Paige, Master At Work, Randy Crawford, Ultra Natе, Boogie Solitaire, Freaks, Isolee, Groove Armada, Cassius, Spektrum, Micatone, Lost & Alive, Osunlade, Minimal Compact, Truby Trio, DJ Hell, Kelis and Chicks on Speed among many others. The most serious woman from hip-hop - Missy Elliott, also could not overlook Ali and Basti and offered them to make a remix of her track "Teary Eyed", and the record featuring two versions of the track from Tiefschwarz was released on the label "Atlantic".
