Tom Middleton Defends the Planet

British electronic musician Tom Middleton has recorded the lead track for the 10:10 project, which will be released on June 28, 2010, on Toolroom Records.

The 10:10 initiative was launched in September 2009 by a small group of activists advocating for environmental protection. The climax of their work will be a global action against climate change on October 10, 2010 (10.10.10). The campaign aims to reduce carbon emissions worldwide by 10% in 2010, which they believe will help extend the life of our planet.

Middleton's track, adhering to the project's overall idea, lasts exactly 10 minutes and 10 seconds. The musician takes pride in his involvement in this cause and admits that he has reassessed his attitude toward many everyday issues. For example, he now prefers public transport over taxis, switched to energy-saving bulbs, considers food waste, and does not overuse heating.

Currently, 10:10 has about 60,000 participants, including 2,300 companies and organizations, among them: Adidas, Royal Mail, the Universities of York and Edinburgh, and others.
