Tragedy in Duisburg

The number of fatalities in the crush at the Love Parade music festival in Duisburg, Germany, has reached 20 people. On Monday, July 26, a 21-year-old woman died in the hospital from her injuries. It was previously reported that a total of 511 people were injured in the crush.
Among the deceased were seven foreigners - citizens of Australia, Italy, the Netherlands, China, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Spain.
The tragedy occurred on Saturday, July 24, in a tunnel leading to the main stage of the Love Parade festival.
The Love Parade music festival has existed in Germany since 1989. This event was held in Duisburg for the first time. The festival organizer Rainer Schaller stated that out of respect for the memory of the victims, their families, and friends, the parade will no longer be held.
