Koolwaters Party at Gaudi Club
Клубные российские · 17.06.2004
If something truly significant is happening in the club life of this planet, it’s surely due to Koolwaters. China, Hong Kong, Ibiza, Turkey, Egypt, Portugal, Ukraine, Kenya, South Africa, Japan, Canada, Bosnia, Serbia, Russia - this is by no means a complete list of countries whose clubs have experienced how this team operates. Thanks to Koolwaters, those who need to be seen find themselves where they want to be seen. Koolwaters features performances from the Chemical Brothers, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Mauro Picotto. It is the best up-and-coming promo company in the UK of 2002 (Mixmag), with several awards in the "Club of the Month" nomination (Ministry Mag, Muzik) and the best club in Southern England (again Mixmag, 2003). Resident DJ Marc Vedo is reportedly poised to outshine Sasha himself, alongside brilliant newcomers Matt Thorne and Marcus. And with an extensive experience working with the most sought-after stars and top clubs, it can be asserted without a doubt that Koolwaters doesn't have boring parties. Koolwaters Goes East is the second in a series of events organized by Go East Promotions, representing leading UK clubs and labels. DJ Lange He’s already being called the leading British trance producer and remix master, but it seems that this is only the beginning. DJ Lange started his career in 1997 after signing with Additive Records, and immediately shot to fame. Over 15 of his remixes went directly to the UK Top 40, while another, "DJ Sakin - Protect Your Mind," took 4th place in sales in 1999. Lange’s list of credits includes remixes for tracks by Pet Shop Boys, Faithless, Agnelli and Nelson, Lost Witness, DB Boulevard, Ian Van Dahl, and Space Brothers. Lange’s solo work has brought him equal success. The singles "I Believe" and "Follow Me" from the film "Kevin and Perry Go Large" became club anthems. In 2000, Lange, this time under the name SuReal, broke into the UK Top 40: the debut release of the project "You Take My Breath Away" reached 15th place, and SuReal appeared at the iconic Creamfields. As a result, DJ Lange signs a very good contract with the "Warner Chappell" label and companies "BMG Music," "Virgin," and "EMI," and releases the powerful hit "Drifting Away" with vocalist Skye under his own name in 2002. The single skyrocketed to 9th place in the UK Top 20, and its creator was invited to "Top of the Pops" and the "Pepsi Chart Show." Projects from 2003, Firewall ("Touched," "Sincere," "Reflections") and LNG ("Intercity") turned out to be rather club-oriented, as did the duo "Lange vs. Dumonde." Meanwhile, Lange plays his hard progressive house and intelligent music in the largest British clubs (Godskitchen, Slinky, Passion, Gallery, and Wildchild) and at festivals (Godskitchen's Global Gathering, Summadayze, Wemf, Spooky), managing to visit Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia, the USA, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Ibiza. In 2004, DJ Lange opens his own label Lange Recordings - and heads to Moscow. Janette Slack In the eternal duel between "creators" and "technicians", Janette Slack holds the most advantageous position: possessing all the necessary knowledge of the latter, she is not devoid of the talent and "spark" of the former. She knows exactly what she wants to do, how it should sound, and how it can be done. Janette Slack, the daughter of a British subject and a Chinese woman, began her career in her native Hong Kong, where she played funky progressive and breakbeat at the most advanced club venues. After leaving Hong Kong, she toured clubs in Canada, Australia, China, and the USA, before settling in London and switching to production activities. However, DJing didn’t remain in the background for long: by the summer of 2003, she appeared on BreaksFM as a guest on the Atomic Hooligan Show alongside Tayo, and then played with Plump Djs, Leeroy Thornhill of Prodigy, Hybrid, Freestylers, and Stanton Warriors. Every month, together with Disposable Breaks DJs, she plays at the largest parties at London’s Indigo. After graduating with honors from audio engineering courses, Janette immediately got a job at New World Music Group, where she also tried her hand in label management. Here, she realized that DJing and producing are inseparable. As a producer, she collaborates with colleagues and musicians in Spain and Sweden while teaching them the nuances of working with specialized software. Her work at New World Music Group paid off, and in 2002 Janette founded her own record label Cold Fusion, the first release of which was the track "Quark," recorded in collaboration with Xav - a new discovery of Botchit Breaks. This release conquered the breakbeat charts on DJMag and received active rotation on "proper" radio stations, including Breaks FM, Flex FM, and Trust the DJ. After Cold Fusion came another "engineering" period, but upon receiving an offer from En:vision, Janette couldn’t resist. She plans to return to label management, but first wants to record more solo material. Additionally, in March 2004, she will play herself in Doug Pray's documentary film "Scratch". However, Janette’s unquenchable life energy will suffice for everything.
