There is a lot of contradictory information about the new techno god named Vitalic. The thing is, he admits to being passionate about writing his autobiography and always comes up with something new. For example, here is a touching story he created for the Gigolo records label: Vitalic was born in 1973 in the village of Borodinka in Ukraine. His family, like many traditional Ukrainians, made a living by selling furs. In 1989, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, sixteen-year-old Vitalic moved to East Germany on his own carrying a small dog named Mini Robot. There he earned a living with various odd jobs, including being a gigolo. After some time, Vitalic gave up his hobby of playing a traditional Ukrainian instrument called Trubka and started composing techno tracks instead. In 2001, his EP Poney was released by the French label Kobayashi. Soon, this record about how small ponies find it hard to ride naughty children was reissued on International Deejays Gigolo. Some truth: Vitalic's real name is Pascal Arbez. Sometimes he calls himself Dima. Vitalic speaks Russian and French very well (much worse in German). Vitalic studied in England. The Poney story happened to him at a fair when he was five years old. Vitalic is a staunch animal rights activist. Vitalic plays the trombone professionally. Techno became his protest against bourgeois music. Vitalic actually has a Yorkshire Terrier named Mini Robot. Vitalic met DJ Hell thanks to his girlfriend, who worked in the organizing committee of the Love Parade festival. Vitalic collaborates with all the bright personalities who adhere to intellectual techno, including Hacker, Laurent Garnie, Agoria, and Tiga. Vitalic swears he actually worked as an escort for women. However, he specifies that he always chose his clients himself. Currently, Vitalic lives in the French city of Dijon and is swapping the 'gigolo' mask for the image of a respectable citizen: he has created his own label, Citizen Records.
