Wolfgang Voigt presented GAS project in Barcelona

German electronic music guru, founder of the Kompakt label Wolfgang Voigt held an audio-visual presentation of his innovative musical project in the techno and pop ambient styles called GAS in the luxurious setting of Sala Hipostila - the main attraction of Park Guell in Barcelona. Most guests and residents of the Spanish city cannot recall a concert being held in such an unusual location. The Hipostila Hall was built in 1907-1909 by architect Gaudi, and as it is not often used for musical events, original drawings of Gaudi himself had to be used to plan the stage and seating layout. Voigt created his work together with video artist Petra Hollenbach - 90 minutes of powerful surrealist sound and graphics, evoking associations with the forests of Germany and the mythology associated with them. Prior to this concert, Voigt personally presented the GAS project only once in the last twelve years - on September 28 in Leipzig. His performance in Barcelona was organized by the Red Bull Music Academy, headquartered in Cologne, where Kompakt, the label owned by Voigt, also has its main office. It is worth noting that from September 21 to October 24, Red Bull Music Academy held its tenth annual music gathering in Barcelona. As the conference closed, Voigt gave a lecture on changes in the techno music market, and also introduced the audience to the nuances of his most interesting recordings. It is worth adding that in April of this year, as part of an info session by Red Bull Music Academy, the musician gave a similar lecture at Moscow's Shanti.
