Everyone to Park!

On February 27, everyone who partied hard at the 'Park' will gather at 'Solyanka.' Don't expect any mercy. Moscow had various clubs, but in the 90s, our capital turned into the Mecca of nightlife, and many faithful clubbers from the central cities of Europe made their pilgrimage here. The uninhibited 'Manhattan' shook with permissiveness. Parties at the 'Penthouse' were essentially the same, but the music was better there. And then 'Ptuch' appeared with its audience and closed system, where outsiders were forbidden entry, 'Titanic' with its first glamorous shine, it was its own face control. 'Treasure Island' — for lovers of the first after-parties. 'Aerdance,' which gathered trance lovers and enthusiasts of electric freedom. In general, it turned out that after 'Hermitage' of Sveta Vickers, the true Moscow club, we never had: everyone scattered according to their musical interests, drug components, and wallet thickness. Only in 'Hermitage' did everyone gather — regardless of anything. People strolled there like in old Moscow taverns, until the very end. And then 'Hermitage' got its successor club — 'Park.' Uninhibited, openly Moscow, stylish. It didn't matter who you were — a gangster, a poet, a businessman, a musician. Alcohol and everything else erased social differences. When you opened the doors of 'Park,' you felt at home. 'Park' was also great because it broke out of the 'concrete paradise': the Moscow River embankment, the wonderful Neskuchny Garden nearby, and two minutes away — Gorky Park with its attractions. After a mind-blowing set from DJ Grigory, you took two unsteady steps and found yourself either in a Coen Brothers movie or in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' — it all depended on your state. And the girls we befriended there — you could go crazy! And after the parties, revelers couldn't part with each other and went to someone's home or dacha. But everyone tried to meet the dawn here, in 'Park,' because it was unforgettable. These feelings cannot be reconstructed because like quality sex or real relationships, it happens very rarely, and rare things are irreproducible. And as one great poet wrote, to 'forget this life, you need, at minimum, one more.' That is why the club 'Solyanka' offers a unique opportunity — not to recreate the 'Park' club for one night, which would be utopia, but to imagine 10% of what it was. And I think this will be enough for the young — above the roof. And the old folks will be happy anyway, if they find a place at 'Solyanka' — Igor Shulinsky, Chief Editor of TimeOut Moscow magazine.
