All-Russian Championship in Modern Underground Dance

On February 24, GazGallary will host the All-Russian Championship in Modern Underground Dance. Among semi-professionals from all over Russia, who passed a rigorous competitive selection, three winners will be chosen in the styles of hip-hop new style 2X2, house 1X1, popping 2X2.

Among the jury of the competition:

Paulereck Section C (France), a dancer with fifteen years of experience. He started with the styles hype, smurf, loking, poping, vogue, body smoove. Currently, he works in hip-hop and new style. Winner of numerous world dance forums, including the World Championship 2005 (To the Game, Osaka, Japan), Juste Debout (Paris, France), Hip-Hop Conference (New York, USA), Tokyo Dance Show (Tokyo, Japan), Asian International Contest (Seoul, Korea), MTV Battle (Paris, France). He is currently an active member of the dance team Section Camouflage.

The second judge of the championship is Rabai (France), one of the most well-known and recognized French dancers, an international-level judge. A pioneer of house dance in France, along with his team O’Trip House (which includes Meech, Didier, Ricky Soul, Joseph Go) and the Spirit N Mouv project, he has actively contributed to the development and promotion of this dance style both in his homeland and abroad, traveling around the world with master classes. Rabai is the creator of the team Mission Impossible in 1989, the choreographer of the first Hip-hop New School Show presented in 1996 in Paris, and many others. This year he will be present as a judge at Juste Debout 2008 (Paris, France).

As part of the event, the first annual "Honor and Glory" award will be presented for the contribution to the development of modern underground dance in Russia. The award is given to specialists in the fields of education, organization, and promotion of the dance movement. The jury is headed by renowned club promoter, professional dancer, and teacher Marina Ojo.

One day before, on February 23, the judges of the championship will conduct master classes in the following areas: Popping Bugaboo, Popping Newstyle, House.
