"Altitude" at Shanti

Club Shanti is launching a new series of events. The concept of the parties, collectively named "Altitude," revolves around the convergence of different poles: a symbiosis of live and synthetic sound. At the pilot event, guests heard well-known electronic hits rearranged for the piano, and the main character of the next event will be the Hutsul cimbalom player Pеtr Skazkin.
With the onset of the new century, the global blending of genres has become one of the brightest trends, and the movement towards each other of acoustic and electronic music is a clear testament to this. There are numerous examples of such collaborations: ethnic instruments have become an organic part of the trance stage, techno music representatives actively perform live with a symphonic orchestra. The result of such collaborations is an unusual sound and the energy of a live performance.
This Saturday, November 15th, musicians from Lipetsk will perform at Shanti – the Diggadgy project, as well as an unusual trio consisting of DJ Slava Finist, a percussionist, and the invited star multi-instrumentalist Petr Skazkin. Petr plays the fiddle, bayan, and piano, as well as exotic drymba and trembita, but his main instrument is the cimbalom. Moreover, Skazkin is a true Hutsul (this ethnicity inhabits the Ukrainian Carpathians). As befits an ethnic musician, Skazkin comes from a street scene background and constantly plays as part of the ensemble "Petrovichi."
Starts at 10:00 PM.
