Performance by musical residents - an evening of the future in Nikola-Lenivets

The material created within the musical residency will become part of the program events in Nikola-Lenivets next year. On August 17th, the event will provide a glimpse into the future.
Playsomething - a duo from Tuscany - Nikolai Polikurov and Marco Tocci. The musicians lived in Nikola-Lenivets for two weeks, creating works inspired by sounds recorded in Nikola-Lenivets: children's laughter from the summer camp, vocals in a ruined church, and local folklore.
For a collaborative performance at the 'Universal Mind,' the residents will be joined by the experimental multi-instrumentalist Vlad Dobrovolsky (Moscow) with a solo performance, as well as Sergey Komarov (St. Petersburg) and Ilya Sadovsky (Kaluga) - the Kurvenschreiber project - with audio material from the Cyland media laboratory, previously presented at the Venice Biennale. A unique sound library and improvisation will voice an art object and fill the installation with new content.
The residency is based at the 'Art-Kazarma' hostel, where a studio equipped with all the necessary equipment for creativity was set up for the musicians. Fully immersing themselves in the life of the art park and its surroundings, the musicians created works that were organic to the place. In the first week, artists from Iceland, Italy, and Latvia worked in the studio. In the second week, Russian musician Slow joined the group. As Sergey Suokas, he is one of the pioneers of Russian techno, while under the alias Slow, he engages in lighter and more improvisational music.
In addition to musicians, the Italian sound engineer Francesco Taddei is participating in the residency. In Italy, he is the technical director of his recording studio, and together with theatrical projects, he has traveled the world, working with sound, light, and video. The fact that the music and videos made in Nikola-Lenivets turned out the way they did is in large part thanks to Francesco.
