X-Press 2: Ibiza - St. Petersburg
Клубные российские · 20.11.2003
The fourth party from the Trans Globe Clubbing series will be dedicated to Ibiza. One could say that it is the cradle of European house culture. Ibiza's history began in the mid-80s when a group of English promoters led by Pete Tong landed on this Spanish island. They organized several parties playing only house music. Summer ended, the participants of the first rave returned to England, spreading the word about this amazing dancing island. Year after year, Ibiza became a true Mecca for clubbers worldwide. Being a regular at nightclubs and not visiting Ibiza became improper. The island houses the biggest clubs in the world, where legendary DJs play and people dance around the clock. Even on the beaches, lively house music can be heard. In short, Ibiza is a paradise island, a legendary island for any self-respecting clubber. It was the success on Ibiza that marked the rise of the guests of the Trans Globe Clubbing party - the group X-Press 2. Their hits were initially tested in the island's main clubs. The enthusiastic reception at Pacha or Privilege meant international success for their tracks such as Muzik Xpress, Say What, and of course, the famous Lazy, recorded with the great David Byrne from Talking Heads. X-Press 2 are not only known for their studio work but also for their live performances. The trio consisting of Ashley Beedle, Rocky, and Diesel work together behind the DJ booth. They play their music on 6 (!) turntables, turning their performances into a jam session with energy worthy of a rock concert. Critics, previously considering house music 'dead,' completely changed their minds after X-Press 2's show. This showmanship talent opened doors for them to the most prestigious clubs worldwide. Today, X-Press 2 are headlining the most famous parties on the planet - Subliminal Party at the bohemian club Pacha in Ibiza. The party featuring the group X-Press 2 will take place on November 21, 2003, at the Manege of the Cadet Corps. X-PRESS 2 biography Ashley Beedle, Rocky, and Diesel consider themselves part of the lively tribe of 'dancing freaks.' Rocky and Diesel spent their youth browsing the latest releases at the London music store Black Market, where Ashley Beedle was working as a manager at the time. Realizing they had a lot in common, they delved into the modern dance music scene. They attended all the underground parties in Greater London. In a way, they were even colleagues - Rocky and Diesel spun records at popular after-parties at the Full Circles club. If they were practically brothers, why not try to work together? This idea bore fruit. Their first studio track, Muzik Xpress, became very popular - the strange combination of a hard house rhythm and fun sounds of typewriter clicks and wailing sirens immediately caught on. It was played in London clubs and on Ibiza, where the famous DJ and host of Essential Selection radio show, Pete Tong, heard this track. After the track aired on his program on BBC One, X-Press 2 became known throughout Britain. Of course, having gained fame, X-Press 2 did not intend to abandon their DJ careers. However, there were difficulties. With three members now, the guys couldn't agree on who would play first. The solution came naturally - what if they played together? To implement this idea, they had to build a complex setup with six turntables, a couple of samplers, microphones, and a DJ console. The show was worth the candle. Not only did this setup help X-Press 2 produce a completely unique sound, but it also turned their performance into an amazing show. The three cheerful guys juggling records and creating new mixes 'on the fly' looked enchanting. Soon, X-Press 2 became sought-after guests at the trendiest clubs worldwide - Fabric in London and Pacha in Ibiza. Last year, X-Press 2 reached a new peak after releasing their debut album, Muzikizm. And it wasn't without sensation. The album contained at least two great tracks - Lazy, recorded with David Byrne from Talking Heads, and I Want You Back featuring the vocals of the eccentric Dieter Meier from Yello. This work made X-Press 2 true pop stars. The humorous video for Lazy entered hot rotation on MTV, and soon Ashley Beedle, Rocky, and Diesel were recognized on the streets - almost like Robbie Williams. However, X-Press 2 did not succumb to this cheap fame. They remained true to their DJ careers, continuing to delight clubbers worldwide - from the ever-dancing Ibiza to Saint Petersburg. Show must go on!
