Winter Music Conference in Miami

From March 23 to 28, one of the major events in the dance industry - Winter Music Conference - will take place in Miami. For the twenty-first time, musicians, producers, DJs, journalists, label owners, and major promoters from sixty countries around the world will gather at the conference. Labels are best represented at the conference, taking the lead in terms of participants. The majority of participants are representatives of the American music market, comprising over 60%. However, organizers aim to increase international participation every year, focusing mainly on guests from Europe. In less than a week, all participants will be able to attend 35 seminars during the day dedicated to marketing, music management, copyright issues, distribution, label organization and management, radio stations, and many other topics. The most exciting part of the conference, with around two thousand DJs and musicians participating this year, will as usual take place in the evening and night hours. The most vibrant parties will be held at the best clubs in Miami. Space, Crobar, Shine, and Bed will open their doors to promoters, journalists, and party-goers. Several festivals and the International Dance Music Awards ceremony are held within the Winter Music Conference. Ultra is the official WMC festival, taking place on March 25 at Biccentenia Park. The festival attracts around 50,000 people annually and features 14 music arenas, including two main stages facing the ocean, two breakbeat arenas, and two drum and bass arenas. Headliners include Grammy-nominated The Killers, dubbed by the press as the 'new masters of dance rock', The Prodigy, Hot Hot Heat, Paul van Dyk, Hard-Fi, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Erick Morillo, BT, and many others. The guest list is equally impressive: Perry Farrell, Danny Tenaglia, Richie Hawtin, Mauro Picotto, Armand van Helden, DJ Hell. Another important festival within the conference represents a sort of Austro-German-British invasion on American soil. The Miami Music and Multimedia, aka M3 festival, is a different, less commercial format, despite the presence of successful musicians from their homelands. This is where the international significance of the festival becomes apparent - expanding the boundaries of the global music market overall and solidifying European positions in the American market, and vice versa. Several British, German, and Austrian stars will perform in Miami over a few days. The opening party on March 23 will feature BBC Radio 1 guru Jilles Peterson presenting the true masters of broken beat Bugz In The Attic. Former member of the Austrian duo Kruder&Dorfmaster, Peter Kruder, will perform at the party celebrating the opening of the American G-Stone office. The legendary Coldcut will make their debut at WMC. The press is eagerly anticipating performances by British rapper Lady Sovereign with her mix of grime, hip-hop, and funk. Closing M3 on Saturday at the Sunset Sessions party, Jazzanova, Jamie Lidell, and Vitalic will perform with their live show.
