Live Performance by Christopher Just at Just a Party.

Christopher Just was born in Vienna, where he grew up and formed as a musician. His childhood and youth are marked by nothing special, and the first event worthy of mention could be considered the acquisition of a Casio SK5-4 sampler and the creation of his first work "Wenn der Toni mit dem Polster und der Edi mit Finger" using it. This debut work was presented by Just at the Musicbox competition for "Best Song for Football WM 1988," and after winning, he is still waiting for the promised trophy.
After spending five years in the Vienna School of Fashion, disappointed in the potential of the Austrian fashion industry, Christopher Just enrolled in the College of Decorative Arts to study painting. Director Wolfgang Hatter accepted him without examinations, on the condition that he would never change his style. Just managed to keep his promise for only half a year (which is easy to believe once you look at the results of his musical experiments).
Hatter teaches "Fantastic Realism." This unique Austrian style, which arose in the mid-fifties, is viewed by many as a miserable attempt to prolong the life of 20th-century art after World War II. Imagine Dali, fermented on Klimt or a Sven Vath cover – this is what student Just was involved in. On the one hand Hegel, on the other – the discovery that students of art universities are pretty cool guys influenced, according to him, the decision to end it all. Christopher Just began to have fun, relax, sometimes until dawn, drink, "got involved" with women, and eventually heard his first techno track at a party. It was Unique 3/ Digicallity.
The moment came when the young musician decided to sell everything related to painting and was able to purchase a decent sampler 909 and 303. This allowed him to start composing music at home. To support himself financially, Just worked at a record store where he met a lot of like-minded people, one of whom later became his co-producer. This was Peter, also known as DJ Pure. They were noticed at one of the events at U4, where they performed live, and in no time their first record as a new creative alliance was released. Christopher Just attended college less and less, the director stopped greeting him, which didn't bother our hero much, as his composition reached the top of the charts with the piece “Up”. Then followed the first performances in Germany, and the second maxi “Silke” opened the way for performances at Mayday. To fully satisfy the ravers, Just established his own label “Sons of Ilsa.” Marusha sang for them “Somewhere over the Rainbow,” while Westbaum launched “Raving Society.” For Peter, this was too intense a life, and he stopped performing live. Christopher Just, on the other hand, met Ella, who, according to him, "not only cooks excellent schnitzels but also later manages his rubber underwear." To fill the vacuum created after Peter's departure, he decided to move the "rubber performances" to the stage, and they achieved massive success. Not forgetting about rave Germany, Christopher Just released records under his real name for Cheap, Labworks, Pomelo, and Test Tube.
At this time, his studies in fine arts were limited to creating excuses at the beginning of the semester to defer alternative service. Since the musician did not want to completely lose his drawing skills, he became a caricaturist for the techno magazine "Envelope." Because of the lawsuit filed against the publication, it almost cost the magazine its existence. Marc Oh, Scooter, die Schlumpfe, Blumchen, in the opinion of many, made techno-pop perfect, making it pointless to extend the life of the project “Ilsa Gold.” This is not endless fun, and after releasing the album and three maxis, Sons of Ilsa decided to end their existence in show business.
Now, Christopher Just became more interested in engaged in his own production; he created the Petra label, co-authored the soundtrack for the first Austrian film dedicated to techno - “Tempo”, opened Pank Anderson for Pomelo, and is working on a new album “Gerhard Hoppla jetzt komm ich.” By collaborating with “Hells Gigolo Records” to record the track “I’m a Discodancer,” Just achieved quite noticeable success in the UK.
When Pank Anderson said goodbye to Europe and went back to Texas, everything went wrong, and the musician decided not to produce for a few years. From 1998 to 2001 he just made remixes and played chess.
In the winter of 2001, Christopher Just resumed releasing his own tracks along with Clemens Noefeld for the label “Let There Be Pop,” which included his best remixes, and he recorded under his name 12’ for “Giant Wheel” and “Cheap Records.”
In the summer of the same year, together with Gregor Huhsovitz he created a new label “Global Matador,” designed to bring joy to people, and, according to Just, will march around the world in the next ten years.
