Again

On May 20, the Government of Sound/World Club Music in collaboration with Dance Planet releases a new album by Bobina - 'Again'. Despite some cyclicality in the title, the record as a whole denies repetition. This is a true debut with a caveat for the two previous albums. Dmitry Almazov demonstrates the fullness of progressive dimension, which this time responds to mainstream calls and sounds with a piercing vocal. He did it 'again', but completely differently! The title track 'Lighthouse', which turned the perception of Russian trance music upside down and made it into the top 100 of the 'Europe +' compositions, set a clear direction for Almazov's new work. The 'lighthouse' illuminated the way from the underground to the mainstream. The saturation with instrumental tracks influenced the choice of a new format for 'Again' - vocal dance music. Melodic polished sound, soft beat loops, progressive rhythm sections with breaking nervous notes, elements of ruthless electro, and soothing deep breakdowns. 'Again' is caught in the trance trap of finely dispersed summer sound particles, emotional splashes of rich progressions. Unburdened by verbal special effects, the lyrics carry a concise and extremely clear message. Strong professional vocals interspersed with dreamy lightness and enchanting melodiousness. Invited artists change the sensual appearance of 'Again' beyond recognition. The Dutch artist Elles de Graaf, who has collaborated with Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, and Blank & Jones; Tiff Lacey, known for her works with ATB and Paul Oakenfold - bring to Dmitry Almazov's record perfectly chiseled facets of feminine mystery and allure. One of the key compositions of the record is the sensational and undoubtedly sensational track 'Slow', a cover version of the song of the same name by Kylie Minogue. The original was written by Kylie herself in collaboration with Dan Carey & Emilliana Torrini, who personally approved Almazov's remake. A hard, electrified track with a clearly outlined bass line, elements of dream and a hint of whispering beats - not just a rare case of receiving official approval for a remake from the pop princess, but evidence of Bobina's true authority on the European dance scene. Summer carelessness has shattered throughout the album in fine shards. The series of tracks 'More Than Love', 'Where Did You Go?', 'Honestly', and 'Invisible Touch' - sound transformers of mood, enlivening the album with their melody and exciting rhythm. 'When I make a track, a lot depends on my mood at that moment,' Dmitry admits. 'If I make it tomorrow, it will turn out to be a completely different composition.' With his new work, Dmitry Almazov refutes the widespread belief that most Russian DJs do not have their own authorial music. For 'Again' is a confident statement about a qualitatively new level of modern artists' activities. It took a year and a half to record the third album, during which Dmitry made special album versions for all tracks, finding the perfect balance between prolonged eight-minute interpretations and overly short diet radio versions.
