Superqueer

V 135 Recordings presents: the debut album of the electronic project Mujuice - Superqueer. This disk is a result of attempts to move away from the conventional way of composing music, first arranging notes on a rhythmic grid and developing a melodic theme, then focusing on arrangement. The author breaks conventional proportions: theme and composition become not sequential but parallel. The roles of instruments change: for example, the role of percussion may be performed by bass, keys scattered outside the rhythmic grid, sometimes gaining form, sometimes losing it. Sometimes the leading part is taken by the voice, cut-up speech, fitting into tonality and rhythm. But this is not just backing vocals, not a vocal accompaniment, but an attempt to achieve a parallel sound that seems accidental yet is connected to the overall melodic canvas, a single space.
