MIGZ 2009

The new compilation MIGZ 09 is the best, brightest, and trendiest in contemporary electronic music. The disc features compositions that sounded at the namesake festival of electronic music and media art MIGZ. The compilation predominantly consists of Russian performers and, importantly, fresh, previously unreleased tracks. Opening the collection is the young favorite of the Moscow broken rhythms scene DZA, also known as Dzhem with the track Flogram. Dubolom (Korablove and Khz), masters of dub techno sound, provided a track for the compilation in the best traditions of Rhythm & Sound. Following are diverse and vibrant tracks from the sound and visualization laboratory Ylotana Project, promising beatmaker OL, and melodic pianist-electronic musician Mitya Vikhorny. The new sound on the MIGZ 09 compilation is demonstrated by the buzz-worthy Dsh! Dsh! and the overlapping Myspacerocket. The honorable professionals of the electronic sound featured on the compilation are Vasily Shumov and the group Center, as well as Joel Mull, resident of German labels Harthouse and Audiomatique.
