The modern world lives by superfast laws: the internet, highways, mobile phones. The consumer society produces millions of goods daily in colorful packaging, most of which are designed to make life easier and simpler for humans. Microwave ovens, dishwashers, genetically modified foods, synthetic materials, artificial flowers... And we all sit inside a world that we've created ourselves, inside an invisible virtual world of mass pop culture, within the World Wide Web, amidst all these cans of useful products and snippets of TV commercials, consuming and processing information and simulating life. What comes next? Next, the wildest fantasies of sci-fi writers about artificial intelligences taking over the planet and cloned humans begin to materialize. After all, the future has already arrived. In this context, Oleg Kostrov's project Supersonic Future represents an amazing example of the evaluation of contemporary culture. The album Sweet Lightning can be read as a cultural and musical exercise on the theme of modern inauthentic, silicone, culture within which all the movement of modern life and the striving for the future occurs. All the songs in the album are sung as if in conditions of virtual space, with a virtual hermetic helmet on, where all conditions for freedom are blocked and everything is organized according to originally set templates...
