Pete Tong began his music career at the age of fifteen. Following his initial – school – DJ experiences came work at Blues & Soul magazine and part-time jobs in nightclubs, and after those early jobs came a life-changing encounter with Detroit techno and Chicago house. In the summer of 1986, Pete made a pilot trip to the Spanish island of Ibiza, turning an ordinary resort into a pilgrimage site for every fan of club-dance culture over the years, with the help of equally legendary allies. In 1988, he opened his own label, soon releasing records by Orbital and Goldie. In 1991, he launched his own show on BBC, eventually becoming a national hero. Today, Pete Tong is a living legend, yet still one of the most sought-after DJs in the world.
