Troum is a dream, and a dream is a symbol of the unconscious. Just like in a semi-conscious state, this music can lead to very deep, ineffable areas of the emotional sphere. It is a puzzle of otherness, an unattainable, elusive and unexplainable harmony that defies understanding and rational analysis. Troum as a band has existed since 1997 and over 9 years has released 8 full albums and numerous collaborative albums, singles, and mini-releases. A particular feature of the band is its principled refusal to use computers, synthesizers, samplers, and other digital sound sources. The use of acoustic instruments (guitar, bass, accordion, gong, flute, voice), analog recording, and quite simple devices for arrangement and processing of sound allows musicians to achieve phenomenal results - in the field of sound collages, post-industrial minimalism, and transcendental journeys, Troum rightfully occupies a leading position. Troum is a project of two musicians from the band Maeror Tri - one of the first to develop the positive aspect of industrial music, which, unlike the hopeless darkness of most industrial groups, tries to elevate consciousness to a level of contemplation of the harmony of free thought. The German trio created surprisingly deep and floating images using mainly guitars and a mass of effects, pedals, analog processors, etc. Later this style was termed "drone-ambient." Troum continues the tradition of Maeror Tri in the direction of a denser and less psychedelic sound, using more modern techniques.
