"MIDI CONTROL" is a musical computer term. In translation into non-standard, accessible language, it means "management of several interconnected musical instruments." And by confirming this name, the project engages in electronic dance music. The founder and still the only member is Nikitin Yuri. The idea for this project emerged in early 1993. By summer, compositions were recorded, from which the first album titled "Everybody in the beats" was compiled. Two tracks from this album - "MIDI Control" and "Everybody in the beats" - were accompanied by music videos. In the autumn of 1993, there was a performance at the Small Sports Arena in Luzhniki as part of Igor Seliverstov's program "Igor's Pop Show." This performance marked the beginning of concert activities. In the autumn of 1994, "MIDI Control" participated in the "TXM Project" (named after the first letters of the groups "Triplex-A," "XL," and "MIDI CONTROL"). After the release of the disk titled "The Ethnic Story," a contract was signed with the Austrian music company "Warner Chappel." This was the first Russian project that caught the attention of European recording companies. In spring 1995, "MIDI CONTROL" resumed concert activities and prepared to record a new album titled "New dance music from Russia," which was released in September 1995. It included compositions recorded at live performances and radio versions of these tracks. A music video was shot for the ninth track "What is Rave." From August to December 1995, "MIDI CONTROL" was in Germany. There, a new program was written, with which the project began touring Russian cities in January 1996. 1996 and 1997 were dedicated to performances and promoting club dance culture in the regions. Some performance venues for "MIDI CONTROL" include clubs such as "MDM," "Master," "Galaktika," "Pilot," "Shans," "Manhattan-Express" in Moscow; "Planetarium," Sport Palace "Yubileiny" in Saint Petersburg; "Lion" in Vladivostok; "Canyon" in Yekaterinburg; "Otdykh" in Novosibirsk; "Titanic-2000" in Omsk; "Avia," "Rocco" in Nizhny Novgorod; "Snezhok" in Arkhangelsk; Kazan University club in Kazan; the night disco at the Sport Palace "Orlenok" in Perm; the night disco at the ice Sport Palace in Kirov; the Palace of Culture in Surgut; and the Republican Philharmonic in Ulan-Ude.
